Alerts

Get notified when the Salesforce schema you care about changes.

Alerts let you watch for specific schema changes and get notified when they happen, so you don't have to check the Changes timeline yourself.

Alert rules

Create alert rules to watch for the changes you care about — for example, changes to specific objects, new fields, or type changes. Manage your rules on the Alerts page.

A rule pairs what to watch with how you're notified, so you can keep a close eye on the objects that matter most while ignoring the rest of the org.

Scope a rule

A rule can be scoped org-wide or to specific objects, then narrowed by the kind of thing that changed and the kind of change it was:

SettingOptions
ScopeOrg-wide, or one or more specific objects
Entity typeField, object, record type, validation rule, value set, layout
Change typeAdded, removed, modified, activated, deactivated

For field changes you can add field-attribute filters — narrow to changes in a field's type, label, required flag, picklist values, and the like — so a rule can fire on, say, a required field becoming optional without firing on every other edit.

You can also set a minimum-change threshold, so a rule only fires when a sync turns up at least that many matching changes — handy for ignoring routine one-off edits and only hearing about larger reshuffles.

Delivery

Alerts can be delivered through three channels:

In-app

Notifications inside SchemaForce. Available on every plan.

Email

Alerts delivered to your inbox. Available on every plan.

Slack

Alerts posted to Slack. Connect it from the Integrations page with Add to Slack.

Slack is a Pro feature

Slack delivery is available on Pro. Connect Slack from the Integrations page using Add to Slack.

Timing

You can be notified the moment a change is detected, or once a day in a summary:

TimingWhat it doesPlan
InstantFires after a sync detects matching changesPro
Daily digestSummarizes the day's changes in one notificationFree

Free vs. Pro at a glance

The daily digest is available on Free. Instant alerts and Slack delivery are Pro. See Plans & billing for the full breakdown.

Recent deliveries

The Alerts page keeps a Recent deliveries log — a record of what was actually sent, per channel. Use it to confirm an alert went out, see which rule triggered it, and check whether it reached in-app, email, and Slack.

Muting email

Each person can toggle their own email mute to stop alert emails landing in their inbox, without changing anyone else's notifications or the rules themselves.

Mute only silences email

Muting email is a per-user preference and affects email only. In-app notifications and Slack posts still fire — so a shared channel keeps getting alerts even while you've muted your own inbox.
