Value sets

Browse global picklist value sets and the fields that use them.

A global value set is a picklist defined once and reused across many fields. The Value Sets catalog lists your org's global value sets so you can see which fields share each one — and what changes when you edit it.

The Value Sets catalog

The catalog lists every global picklist value set in your org, and for each one shows:

  • Its developer name and label.
  • The values in the set.
  • Which fields use it — so you can see shared picklists across the org at a glance.

When several fields draw from the same value set, you'll see them all in one place — useful before you add, rename, or remove a value.

On a field

The field detail page has a Value Set section for picklist fields. It shows the field's global value set and all the other fields drawing from it, so you can move from a single field to everything that shares its picklist without leaving the page.
